CopyrightGold Metal Plastics Ltd. has just completed a mineral analytic laboratory in March 2013 At Met-Solve Analytical Services in Langley BC. It consists of two 6’ Perchloric Acid fume hoods, exhaust ducting, acid neutralizing system, and a PVC exhaust fan and scrubber combination. The acid neutralizing system consists of two 150 gallon HDPE tanks and is designed to re-circulate city water while treating contaminated waste water. This system was engineered to create top-notch efficiency and reliability, while respecting the space requirements of the company that commissioned it. All tanks are custom fabricated to fit under countertops and allow unrestricted access to treat the effluent.
CopyrightIt is a requirement that all laboratory fume hoods installed in facilities in British Columbia pass stringent ANSI/ASHRAE 110-1995 tests, which include a tracer gas test. This is to ensure that any lab technician working in or around this type of equipment is protected from any dangerous fumes emitting from their projects. These tests were completed by H.E.P.A. Filter Services. These tests can only be achieved when the entire lab including make-up air system is installed and balanced.
CopyrightThe PVC Fan and Scrubber combination were fabricated from Type1 Grade1 PVC and are acid resistant similar to the fume hoods. The scrubber has internal wash-downs and 3 stages of scrubber blades to eliminate droplets as small as 5 microns. This particular combination was designed to handle up to 3200 CFM and with regular servicing, should last 20+ years. Gold Metal Plastics will work with your laboratory technicians to ensure your fume hoods and exhaust systems are operating at optimal levels.
